Aller

Pelúgano, in the municipality of Aller
Aller is in the South of Asturias, bordered to the East by Mieres and Lena and to the North by Laviana, Sobrescobio and Caso
Cabañaquinta is the municipalities main town, and from this point the landscape gradually transforms into a high mountain valley, culminating in the San Isidro Pass (1,520 m) which lies along the border with the province of León. Here one finds San Isidro Ski resort. The beauty of the area and the ski area has led to a great increase in tourism in recent years.
There are some real bargains to be found here, especially old properties for restoration and indeed properties that are structurally sound, but in need of just a little modernisation
A new road is currently being built which will dramatically improve access with Oviedo and the region’s motorway system. It currently takes around forty minutes to drive to Oviedo and fifty minutes to Asturias airport.
Apart from Cabañaquinta the town of Felechosa has a fair bit to offer. There are a number of small hotels and a hostel, several restaurants, numerous bars, shops and banking facilities.

Among the natural beauties of the region are the ravines of the Pino and Aller rivers, huge gorges carved into the foot of the mountains. The municipality also offers a wide variety of walks that follow the paths of the traditional herdsmen from the villages at the foot of the mountains up the slopes. The most notable mountains include: Pico Torres (2,100m), Retriñón (1,862m), and Peña Mea (1561m) Peña Forá on the South flanks of Peña Mea is a particularly lovely spot to go climbing.
